ANIMATED MEISEL for VOGUE ITALIA

The famed photographer Steven Meisel took a step ahead and made these original gifs for Vogue Italia spring issue 2012, called Haute Mess.
A winning mixture of trashy-hairspray-80s attitude-kitsch on (usually) glamorous models like Abbey Lee Kershaw, Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam and Daphne.
you know...THE MORE, THE BETTER!

FASHGIF: graphics+pictures

Amazing GIFs made from FASHGIF (more on http://fashgif.tumblr.com/ ) about their favorite outfits from Tokyo fashion week ss2013 (Anrealage and Everlasting Sprout).
So far I just found animated gifs made just from frames of pictures, so I LOVE the use of minimal graphics and colors ON the pictures.

PRADA PARALLEL UNIVERSES

For the last summer 2012, Prada has been nostalgic with its 50s inspired style and to be completely involved in the theme created some old-style-gifs in collaboration with the armenian artist Vahram Muratyan.
This series of animated illustrations is called Parallel Universes.

BURBERRY TWEETS ANIMATED GIFS AT LONDON FW

Burberry is one of the british brands that really can combine tradition+research, newmedia+(by now) traditional social media, hostory+innovation. Last february, at London fashion week, the brand has been tweeting animated gifs of the fashion show outfits before they went out on the runway. Then the audience appreciated, decided and shared. A massive marketing operation with few clicks.

MORE THAN A PHOTO BUT NOT QUITE A VIDEO. The inspiring work of JAMIE BECK and KEVIN BURG

What really surprised me about animated gifs is the amazing work of the creative duo Jamie Beck/Kevin Burg. Together in their studio in Manhattan, Ann Street Studio, they created a new form of medium called Cinemagraph, a simple way to "allowing a moment to live forever". I'd say fresh and romantic, amazing combo.
Here some examples of their art.
